The Brisbane Seniors Group is a dedicated service of the Sinhala Association of Queensland, creating a welcoming environment for seniors and supporters to take part in meaningful community life.
Our annual program encourages intergenerational connection, social well-being, volunteering, and active participation through regular gatherings and special activities.
Meetings and Community Life
Regular Meetings
Having fun at every meeting is a key part of Seniors Circle. Singing, conversation, and sharing lunch are regular features that build friendship and belonging. When: Last Saturday of every month. Time: 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Our History
The Brisbane Seniors Group was established under SAQ in the mid-1990s as the Sri Lankan community in Queensland grew. It was formed through the dedication of committed volunteers who recognized the need for focused senior support and social connection.
Membership Details
Membership is open to community members who are aged 50 years or over and of Sri Lankan heritage. Membership Fee: $10 per member (annual).
