Annual SAQ Seniors’ Bus Trip — 2026

The Annual SAQ Seniors’ Bus Trip was planned as follows:

Date: Saturday, 28 March 2026

Destination: Stanthorpe – the heart of Queensland’s Granite Belt, known for its cool-climate picturesque route, beautiful apple orchards, and stunning granite landscapes.

Payment Details

• SAQ Seniors Group regular members: $35

• Non-SAQ members: $50

This fee includes the bus fare, tea and coffee and the $8 orchard admission fee.

Important Information

• This trip is subsidised by the SAQ, so priority will be given to current SAQ members. Non-members may join by obtaining SAQ membership for only $10 per family per year.

• Due to the limited seating capacity (55 seats), reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats will not be reserved until payment is made.

• Your seat is confirmed only after payment is received. Refunds are not available unless you find someone to take your place.

• Please make your payment by Monday 23 February 2026 to secure your seat. As our dear friend Sisil’s bus is not available for the trip this year, we are required to pay the full fee to the bus company four weeks before the trip. Therefore, timely payment is essential.

• Apple picking is optional. You only pay for the fruit you take home at $6 per kilo.

• Please bring a plate to share for morning tea and lunch. Water, tea and coffee provided.

Trip Itinerary

• Pick up 1 (Northside): 7:15 am from Westfield Chermside (Hamilton Rd at Chermside RSL, stop 53, near Hamilton Road and Eastleigh Street intersection)

• Pick up 2 (Southside): 8:00 am – Garden City Upper Mt Gravatt Park 'n' Ride (10 MacGregor St, Upper Mount Gravatt)

• Morning tea: 9:30 am – Arthur Clive’s bakery and café, Aratula

• Comfort stop: 10:45 am – Warwick Visitor Information Centre

• Lunch: 12:00 pm – at Stanthorpe Lions Park, picnic style

• Activities:

  • Nicoletti Apple Orchards - Pick up Your Own

  • Donnoly’s Castle

  • Quart Pot Creek

• Departure from Stanthorpe: 2:30 pm

• Afternoon tea: 4:30 pm – Arthur Clive’s bakery and café, Aratula

• Arrival 1: 6:00 pm - Garden City Upper Mt Gravatt Park 'n' Ride

• Arrival 2: Westfield Chermside
