🌟🎭 SARALANGA 2026 – APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN! 🎭🌟
The Sinhala Association of Queensland proudly presents the much-anticipated annual Sri Lankan cultural production, Saralanga 2026.
Saralanga is more than just a concert—it is a platform that preserves Sri Lankan traditions, nurtures young talent, and strengthens our community identity for future generations.
Applications are now invited from eligible performers, choreographers, dance academies, and regional Sri Lankan communities to showcase authentic cultural performances.
Event Details:
· Venue: Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Road, Logan Central
· Date: Sunday, 20 September 2026 from 4.00pm
Who can perform:
· Traditional dance groups
· Cultural academies
· Regional Sri Lankan community groups
· Community performers
Due to scheduling limitations, only 24 performance items will be in the program.Selections will be made based on suitability and program balance than strictly first-come-first-served.
Selection Criteria for acts/performances:
· Each individual may participate in a maximum of two performances (including compeering).
· Performance duration must be 4 minutes or less. The Sinhala School item may be considered as an exception. Longer performances may not be accepted.
· All performances must be original. Items previously presented at other events will not be considered, even with minor modifications.
· Priority will be given to Sri Lankan traditional dances, including:
o Kandyan Ves dances
o Wannam dances
o Low Country dances
o Sabaragamuwa dances
· A maximum of two Bollywood-style items will be included. If more than two applications received, the two items will be selected on merit.
Criteria for performer numbers:
· Individual group items: minimum 10 performers
· Academy items: minimum 15 performers
· Regional Queensland Sri Lankan communities no limitation.
Conditions for performing:
· Music tracks, lighting requirements and backdrop details must be reached the SAQ team at least one month prior to the event.
· All choreographers, performers, and parents of participating children must be current members of the Sinhala Association (SAQ).
· All adult performers and parents are required to purchase event tickets.

· Notification of selected items – 25 June 2026
· Final participant list and technical details due – 20 July 2026
· Mandatory rehearsal – 19 September 2026
