Saralanga 2024

Celebrating Sri Lankan Cultural Traditions in Brisbane

The Sinhala Association of Queensland proudly presented Saralanga 2024, its annual cultural showcase celebrating the rich traditions of Sri Lankan music, dance, and performing arts. The event was held on Saturday, 28 September 2024, at the St John’s Anglican College Auditorium in Forest Lake, Brisbane, bringing together the Sri Lankan community and friends of multicultural Queensland for an inspiring evening of cultural expression.

Saralanga 2024 featured a vibrant lineup of traditional and contemporary performances that highlighted the beauty and diversity of Sri Lankan heritage. Talented performers of all ages took to the stage, showcasing traditional Kandyan dance, folk performances, and cultural storytelling through music and movement. The event provided an opportunity for younger generations growing up in Australia to connect with their cultural roots while sharing these traditions with the wider community.

The evening was a celebration of community spirit, creativity, and cultural pride. Families, friends, and supporters gathered to experience the colours, rhythms, and artistry that define Sri Lanka’s cultural identity.

Saralanga 2024 was made possible through the dedication of performers, choreographers, parents, teachers, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. The Sinhala Association of Queensland also acknowledges the generous support of the Queensland Government, whose contribution helped make the event accessible to the community.

The Association extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and supported Saralanga 2024, making it another memorable milestone in the celebration of Sri Lankan culture in Queensland.
